Symptoms

In Microsoft Windows XP or in Microsoft Windows 2000, when you insert text into a RichEdit control in a custom program that uses the Riched20.dll file, you may experience any one or more of the following symptoms:
  • You cannot insert text next to hidden characters in the edit control.
  • You cannot put the pointer before a hidden block of text at the beginning of the edit control.
  • When put the pointer at the end of a line of text and before a block of hidden text, and then you press the ENTER key, nothing happens.

Cause

This problem occurs because of a bug in the Riched20.dll file.
