When you start a Remote Assistance session with another computer, Remote Assistance does not track who initiated the session or the location of the computer that initiated the session.
This hotfix increases the number of events that are logged when you start and use a Remote Assistance session in Microsoft Windows XP. Currently, Remote Assistance provides only minimal logging of Remote Assistance sessions. The following is a list of the new events that will be logged during a Remote Assistance session:

Hotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. The 32-bit version of this hotfix is installed manually. To install the Windows XP, 32-bit version of this hotfix, you must extract the files to a root folder that has a name that is eight or less characters long. See the "More Information" section for instructions.
Restart requirementYou must restart your computer after you apply this hotfix. You must also turn on Remote Desktop and Remote Assistance.

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC).
