After you burn a DVD-R Dual Layer (DL) disc or a DVD+R DL disc in Windows Vista, you may be unable to read the disc. When you try to read the disc, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:
When this problem occurs, the disc properties may indicate that the disc contains no files and that the size of the disc is zero.
Drive_letter:\ is not accessible.
The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable
This problem is known to occur when you use specific models of DVD drives that were manufactured in about 2004 or earlier.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Windows Vista Service Pack 1.
This hotfix cannot resolve the problem for all DVD drives. If this hotfix does not resolve the problem for the drive that you use, contact the manufacturer of your hardware for more information about how to resolve the problem.
