After you install security update 925524 for Microsoft Excel 2000, you can no longer open some files that you created by using any version of Excel. This issue occurs if the executable mode was set to Korean, Chinese, or Japanese when you created the files.

This issue occurs because of the way in which Excel 2000 processes the phonetic information that is embedded in files that are created by using Excel in the Korean, Chinese, or Japanese executable mode.

Microsoft has re-released MS07-002 to resolve this issue.
