This article describes the Microsoft Office Project Server
2003 issue that is fixed in the Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 hotfix
package that is dated October 24, 2003.
Issues that are fixed in the hotfix package
The following issue is fixed in this hotfix package but was not
previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- When you create and you publish a Microsoft Office Project
2003 project plan with the Project Data Service (PDS), outline codes may not
appear correctly when you view your project plan in Microsoft Project Web
Access (PWA). This problem may occur when you use the ProjectCreate and
CodeValuesUpdate methods in Project Data Service.
Service pack information
This problem was first corrected in Project Server 2003 Service Pack 1.
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Project Server 2003. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the
problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are
experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.
Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft
recommends that you wait for the next Microsoft Office Project 2003 service
pack that contains this hotfix.

restart your computer after you apply the hotfix. Whether you must restart your
computer depends on the files that are in use when you apply the hotfix, or if
the hotfix cannot stop or start services that are associated with Microsoft

You do not have to create or modify any registry keys to activate
any hotfixes that are contained in this package.
SQL stored procedure update is required to install Project Server updates
To make sure that your Project Server has all the fixes that are
contained in this update applied correctly, follow these steps:
- Run the self-extracting package, this will extract the
files to a temporary folder that you select.
- For each SQL query file (such as Websps.sql) that is
extracted to the temporary folder that you indicated in step 1, do one of the

for your Project Server, follow these steps:
- On your main SQL server in your configuration, run
SQL Query Analyzer.
- In the Database drop-down box,
select the ProjectServer database.
- On the File menu, click
Open, locate the SQL Query file (located in the temporary
folder that is specified in step 1), and then open the file.

osql -i c:\temp\websps.sql -U sa. This connects you to
the local, default instance of MSDE 2000 by using the SA account. You may also
run osql with another username that has SA permissions on the
