When you create a message that has many nested attached messages and you send this message to an Exchange Server 2000 server that has virus scanning enabled, the store stops responding (crashes) after three or four hours. You may find that the message remains in your Outbox.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 2.
