1. If you have not tried resetting your password, please follow the steps below
  • Go to: https://account.live.com/resetpassword.aspx
  • Select "I forgot my password" and Click "Reset Password"
  • On the Reset Password page, enter your Windows Live ID/Hotmail Email address
  • On the same page, enter the characters you see on the box
  • Click Next
  • Choose "I can't use any of these options"
  • On the Recover your Windows LIve Account page, enter the Email address you are trying to recover
  • Enter the alternate/working Email address where Windows Live team can contact you
  • Click Continue to complete password reset
2. If that did not help, you will need to validate your account
  • Go to: https://account.live.com/acsr
  • Complete the validation from by providing as much information as possible
  • For questions with multiple answers, provide 3-5 answers instead of 1
  • Provide precise information. The more accurate the information is, the more likely users are to pass validation
