When you run the Database Configuration Application (DCA) in Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS), the SQL Server Login dialog box does not appear, and the DCA stops responding (hangs).

The versions of the computer that is running Microsoft SQL Server, of the client, and of Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) are not synchronized.

To resolve this problem, make sure that the versions are synchronized. For more information about how to determine versioning, see the "More Information" section.

This behavior is by design.

To determine the SQL Server client version, view the following three files in the SQL folder:
  • DTSUI.dll
  • SCM.exe
  • DTSRUN.exe
