When you open a document and view the formatting changes in the Reviewing pane, duplicate entries appear. For example, the formatting change is duplicated, but the author of the duplicate change is displayed as Unknown and no date or time stamp is displayed.

This problem can occur in the following situation:
  • You place text in a table that is inserted in a document.
  • You turn on the Track Changes feature.

To do this in Microsoft Office Word 2003 or in Microsoft Word 2002, click Track Changes on the Tools menu.

To do this in Microsoft Office Word 2007, click the Review tab, click Track Changes in the Tracking group, and then click Track Changes.).
  • You format text in the inserted table.
  • You save the document in Rich Text Format.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
