%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\Log\HotfixThis problem may also happen when you install a cumulative update or a hotfix to SQL Server 2005.
This problem occurs when the database file of the Resource database (Mssqlsystemresource.mdf) is not in the same folder as the log file of the Resource database (Mssqlsystemresource.ldf).
This problem occurs because SQL Server 2005 SP2 Setup and the hotfix installers require that the database file of the Resource database is in the same folder as the log file of the Resource database.
To work around this problem, move the log file of the Resource database to the same folder as the database file of the Resource database. Then, start the Setup program again.
For more information about how to move the log file of the Resource database, see the "Moving the master and Resource Databases" section of the following Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Web site:
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
