You connect a voice modem to a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer to act as an answering machine. However, after the answering machine program receives voice messages, an access violation error may occur.
This problem occurs when the answering machine program cannot correctly close the last incoming call.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.
