SYMPTOMS

Assume that several Network File System (NFS) clients try to access a NFS share on a Windows Server 2008 R2-based failover cluster at the same time. In this situation, the NFS clients can only access the share intermittently. Then, the Windows Server 2008 R2-based NFS server stops responding.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the NFS server waits for IO operations to be completed. However, there are no outstanding IO operations.
